To bring to the Troop an organized and modern approach to communicate by using the web.
Who:

The Boys in the Troop and/or Adults from the Troop or Surrounding Troops/Packs. Attendees must be computer literate in word processing and Web Browsing.
What:

I will Train individuals on how to start and maintain a simple Scout Pack/ Troop web site.
Where

At my residence. Room for 7 individuals.
When

18 Months from start.
How

Teach Individuals how to obtain a web address, Web Host, Web Page Themes, Picture Galleries. Allow individuals to start work on their web as a hands on exercise.
Why

Effective Communication of Events to Scout Pack / Troop.

Course was written and presented on June 5th 2008.

I posted the presentation on this web. Click here to see! The presentation was also given at my work place where I had the opportunity to preset to about 10 people. This version has been edited to remove references to my company but will give a good idea of how the presentation went. I used other sources within the presentation where needed.

I had two people attend. Chris G. form Pack 11 (and Troop 41) and Carl R from Brockton Troop 20.

The time has finally come!
 
As the last part of my Woodbadge training Tickets, I am offering a class on how to setup, Host and make your own web pages.
 
www.AbingtonScouts.com is the web I maintain for Scouting in Abington.
 
You are welcome to attend my class if your interested. The class will run 1 evening but could go to 2 depending on how many questions we have.
The training is based on using Microsoft Frontpage 2003 as the tool to write the web pages. Basically it's a beefed up version of Microsoft Word.
Microsoft has moved to a newer version and no longer sells the old but it can be purchased on ebay. You don't need to purchase it for the class.
 
I'll propose some dates and you can tell me how they work for you.
 
If you are not interested, I'll remove you from any future emails. Just let me know.
Feel free to let me know anyone else you think would want to attend.
I can also run a second class session as needed.
