Do you know what you want to do when you grow up? Would you want to share it with the troop? Then this is your chance!!!
What we are looking for is some scouts that would like to share what they would like to be when they grow up in front of the troop. Please include what you want to be (as detailed as possible, example: instead of just a doctor, a pediatric doctor) Any degrees needed, where you would work, etc... We are trying to stay clear of "I'm going to be in the NHL." or things of that nature. This should also be a opportunity to widen the younger boys view on what to be. If your Scout is interested in doing this please contact me via e-mail . We are looking for their presentation to be around 5-8 minuets long.
Thanks,
Dylan , SPL T-41

Hello Everyone,
Every organization needs a strong support system in order to provide a quality and enjoyable program for our Scouts. We want the Scouts to look forward to each meeting and activity. Troop 4
Your anticipated assistance would be greatly appreciated.
1 would like to reach out to the parents to enhance that system. So, we've set aside Tuesday, February 7th to hold a Job Fair at the American Legion from 7-8 PM.
At this meeting we will provide you with opportunities to help us out. Some people may only be able assist on occasion. Others may want to step forward to become one of our Assistant Scoutmasters or Committee. No matter what level of involvement you choose, we're all here for one thing and that is to do everything we can to aid in the advancement of our Scouts. We will have applications available.
We will also discuss a few parent/leader guidelines to minimize distractions during troop meetings and allow our Scout to focus on advancement and planned activities.

Car Wash at Bailey’s Garage Saturday, May 22nd
-Mr. Bailey has been gracious enough to donate the water
and materials for us. All we have to do is provide the
Scout-power and adult supervision. This is an all-day
fundraiser. We need to ensure that we run it with a
minimum of 15 Scouts and 8 adults. Older Scouts are
needed to clean larger SUV’s and trucks. In order to
pay for/defray many of our activities, fundraisers like
this are essential. If you have not volunteered recently,
your help would be greatly appreciated. See Mrs. Hatch
if you have any questions. A sign up sheet will be
available at the next troop meeting.
Camping Merit Badge!
OK, we still have a few "odds
and ends" to clear up before Camping Merit Badge V3
is completed. I have Ricky "on the case" to
see if you guys may have already completed some of
the leftover requirements.
In the meantime, if there are
no schedule conflicts, I'd like have a
meeting with you guys on Wednesday June 9 (that is
this coming Wednesday) at 6 pm before the regular
troop meeting. The purpose,
to put it in ye olde Town Meeting warrant's
language, "there and then to act upon the
following":
Do a quick review of some
First Aid for common hiking injuries
Requirement #10 - "discuss
how the things you learned doing this badge have
taught you about personal health and safety etc."
"Thorns and Roses". That
is a little discussion about what you thought was
good or bad about how this badge was done. I am
particularly interested in what you thought of the
"Planning a Trek" presentation and the backpacking
trip. Please jot down notes
on your thoughts to bring with you Wednesday and
please do not hold back if you have "thorns". I
can't make this badge better if you don't tell me
what should be improved!
Please reply
back to me so I know who can make it Wednesday and
who can not.
Thanks,

Meeting
Thursday July 30th
We will be holding our yearly planning meeting on
Thursday, July 30th at the American Legion from 6-9 PM.
As usual, pizza and soda/water will be served. Our goal
is to put together a firm calendar for September -
February and a tentative schedule for March - August.
Then, in November we will meet again to firm up the
second half of the year.
All members of the Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) are
encouraged to attend. Anthony , the Senior Patrol
Leader will run the meeting, with the assistance of
adult leaders. It is essential that we work together to
provide a quality program for the members of our troop.
Members are asked to provide various school, sports,
religious education and other extra curricular
calendars, in order for us to avoid as many conflicts as
possible. We will be sitting down with the Scouts on
July 29th, to brainstorm for additional potential
activities and events.
Keep in mind that 2010 marks the 100th Anniversary of

Monadnock Weekend
November
14-16th
This
should prove to be a great opportunity for both Scouts and
adults. Come enjoy a weekend of hiking and enjoying the
outdoors of New Hampshire. Our plans include an advance
group heading up Friday afternoon, hiking up Mt. Monadnock
on Saturday and gathering together around the campfire to
share the day’s experiences. We hope everyone has a great
time

join Troop 41 and Packs 11 and 41 on these two dates as we

She will
be handing out route assignments on both days. So, let’s
work together to support our community.
Adults
with cars, vans, station wagons and trucks are needed,

assist in any way they can. Remember, many hands make light
work.
Hello Everyone,
MassJam is scheduled for Columbus Day Weekend 2008.
As indicated in the packets, it is a large-scale
Jamboree that gathers together Boys Scouts from
throughout Massachusetts and beyond. The weekend is
full of events and activities that captivate the Scout
in everybody, young and old alike. The event is held
every 4-5 years. In some cases, scouts only go once as
a youth. Please, consider making this a part of your
Scouting experience.
Registration and $20 has been extended to the date
Mrs. H announced at the meeting. Mrs. H. will be collecting them.
Thank You,

Knowing
LNT is a requirement for Camping Merit Badge. Those who
are currently taking Camping Merit Badge with Mr. B. and
Ricky, should consider attendance at this
meeting/presentation to be mandatory.
We also want to encourage
parents to attend this presentation also, especially
those parents who go on troop camping trips. The BSA is
at least 10 years behind the rest of the world in
accepting and embracing LNT so many, many parents do not
know anything about them. If they try to camp now like
the Boy Scouts used to teach, even as recently as five
years ago, they definitely aren't using LNT so we'd like
bring them into the 21st Century!
